funny youtubes

I love funny people who make videos like this. This person obviously had a lot of time on their hands, but I'm glad they took the time to make me laugh. It's always great to have a funny youtube to brighten my day. Also, I'm really curious as to when he used sexy in a speech.

Martha

I love all things Martha. We've gotten the Living magazine in the mail ever since I can remember. My sister and I used to pick up her wedding magazine whenever we were with our mom at the grocery store. She was the source of all of our cooking and craft projects.
Since coming to college I have neglected looking at all of my Martha resources, but when I find the time I love browsing through her website.
This is such a great resource for crafts, recipes and weddings. Ok, time to brag about my sister again. Her wedding was featured on Martha Stewart's website a few years ago linked here

Names

I have spent too much time on this, but it is so fascinating. Maybe I'm weird, but I think this is so cool! You type in any name and it shows you the years that it was popular. I can't remember how I found this, but I found it a few months ago and went crazy typing in names of everyone I know. Check it

Pick Me Up

I love that the internet can be used to spread so much good. I love finding videos like this on youtube. I can feel the Spirit so strongly through music and David Archuleta's voice is amazing. I've been so stressed out lately and listening to this song has helped calm me so much. I love it and hope you all do too.

Disney Channel Original Movies

Did you know that the Disney Channel original movies that we grew up watching are almost all on youtube in parts? Yeah, best discovery ever! My friends and I spent our Friday night watching Wish Upon a Star.
I LOVED these movies growing up. I used to watch Double Teamed and try to do the cool fake move that helps them win the game. I watched Gotta Kick It Up and pretended like I was suddenly good at dancing. Such cheesy movies, but you can't help but love them.
Disney has gone downhill since I was a kid. The TV shows are LAME and the original movies are equally as awful. Also, since when do ten year olds have girlfriends on Disney? I swear they just keep getting young and younger each year.

Movie Songs

One of my favorite things is when movies have a great theme song or great soundtracks. Music in films can completely change the entire mood of the movie. I love the good war movies with the intense music in battle and the sentimental music when there's a lovey moment. I'm very much influenced by music and consider it to be a huge part of who I am. Here is some of my favorite music from movies

I love Man From Snowy River. I started learning this song on the piano, but then my parents' cleaning lady moved the sheet music, and I've never been able to find it. I can attempt to impress you with the first two pages that I can play though haha.

I get chills. So.... magical

Obviously..

This soundtrack brings back so many memories. So beautiful!

Ahhhhh

Another obvious one

Knowing me I need to stop here, or I will be annoying and post way too many. I'll also probably come up with the best one right after I post this.

making changes

I found the video that we watched in class so fascinating. I wanted to look more into the cause and found this little video. I liked how it shared statistics and then gave encouragement to make changes. I loved it! So powerful! Often times I think I wouldn't be able to make a difference, but then videos like this excited me and make me want to get involved in the change. Hope you all like it as well!

Wedding Blogs

I regularly follow wedding blogs. Yes, I am single and nowhere close to marriage, but for the past few years I have been a wedding blog stalker. I love them! My sister is a wedding planner, so I use blog stalking as an excuse to help her find things for brides. I'm her assistant at weddings, so I say that my blogging love is mainly to help her (lies). I have WAY too many blogs that I follow. My friends know that I'm a lover of all things wedding and are always asking me to send them all of my links to blogs. It's always a challenge for me to do so because I may or may not follow 85 wedding blogs.... and the numbers keep growing! Luckily I have my netnewswire (which I previously blogged about) that tells me when they update, so I don't visit the sites looking for updates. I've mastered the art of stalking these blogs and can blow through them all pretty quickly. I've just made myself sound like a total loser by admitting my blogging love, but at least when the time comes for my wedding I'll be totally prepared.

Speaking of wedding blogs, I'm going to brag and show my sister's wedding that I regularly see around the internet. It's been 2 years but it's still weird for me when I see people I know that don't know my sister pinning her wedding dress.

HeyTell

I have an app on my phone that I LOVE called HeyTell. It's basically a walkie talkie for your phone. It saves all of your messages, and you can listen back on the funny things that have been said. My friends and family have gotten a little crazy with it, but it's fun to listen back on old messages and laugh. I usually wake up to an obnoxious HeyTell from my brother-in-law, but it's always entertaining nonetheless. I love this way of communication because you can hear the tone of voice and know exactly what the person is meaning. I'm a person who hates calling someone just to have them answer one question. I get sick of texting and don't feel like typing out what I want to ask. Also, it replaces having to call people on the phone in the car because you can't text them. HeyTell is awesome because I just push down the button and say what I want to say then it sends automatically. Maybe this app just helps add to my laziness, but I love it!

Hoku

Sorry to blog about another song from childhood, but I just rediscovered this song! I loved this song when it came out and used to watch this music video on tv all the time! I was curious, so I did some snooping. According to Wikipedia she lives with her husband and two kids in Orange County. It's funny to think of the different people that I looked up to when I was little. Hoku, during this phase was definitely one of the people I wanted to be like. She was cool just singing about burritos while hangin' with her hot surfer boyfriend. When you're ten years old what get's cooler than that?
I hope you all get as much of a kick out of this as I did. The music video is SO lame, but the memories are worth watching it again.

Angel

This song will never get old. I listen to it regularly and have since I was ten years old. I play this when I'm in any mood. It makes me happy if I'm in a sad mood, or it helps me get pumped up when I'm already in a good mood. I have memories of driving around Maryland listening to this in the car with my family with the top down enjoying the summer. I love that songs can bring back so many happy memories. I have many memories attached to this one song, and listening to it brings them all back.

I'm famous. By famous, I mean I'm youtube famous. By youtube famous I mean I put this video of my sister's friends and family surprising her at her wedding two years ago on youtube, and we have had like 3,000 hits (mostly family and friends). I'm a lover of youtube. I love that things like my family dancing like losers can be put on the internet and shared with anyone we want (like my wonderful classmates). This video is dorky and shows my serious lack of rhythm, but it makes me smile so here you go.

crazzzzy

My friend showed this to me last semester. This is the CRAZIEST proposal/wedding ever but the whole flash mob thing is the COOLEST! I love that we can watch videos like this on the internet. It makes procrastinating and wasting time that much more fun ;)

Talkshows

I love talkshows. Regis and Kelly were my favorites, and I was so sad when Regis retired. One of my other favorites is Ellen because she always has the most random things going on. She's also hilarious and finds new ways to make me laugh all the time. I love that she gets people to come on her show, and she shows them in a completely different light than we are used to seeing them in. This video had my cracking up so I thought I'd share with you all. Too funny!

Childhood Book

For our assignment we had to discuss our favorite book as a child. I knew mine right away and was excited to write about it. Ella Enchanted was my favorite book as a child because it allowed me to imagine. There were kingdoms, trolls, fairies and magic. I was able to create scenery in my head of a mystical, special place. I was a very imaginative child, and loved to take the story and think about it more and imagine more than what was written on the page. It was a happy place for me to go to as I jumped into the story and forgot about reality for a little while. I felt like the characters were my friends, and that their well being was linked to mine. They seemed like special people, and I wanted a happy ending for them. As a little girl I also loved reading about stories of love and happiness, and this story was a sweet story of a girl who falls in love. I would get giddy and excited when she would get love notes from the prince and was so relieved when good things would happen in their relationship.
I loved this book so much! Sadly, they BUTCHERED the movie and it was hardly like the book at all. The movie was AWFUL! Do NOT watch it if you are a fan of the book. SO disappointing.

Musical Films

I LOVE musicals. There need to be more musicals put into films. They are my favorite kind of movies, and they just make me giddy inside. I could be obvious and put disney movies up here, but I'm not going to. Ah! I'm excited. K, here are some of my favorites:

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. My grandma showed this to all of the grandkids when we were little, and since then it has been a family favorite. I have so many memories associated with this movie. I may even have Meet Me in St. Louis as the ringtone for when my best friend calls me....

I love this song from Slipper and the Rose. It takes like 5 minutes to get into the song so skip ahead. It's worth it. This movie is one of my mom's favorites, so it was watched a lot growing up. LOVE.

How can you not love this? This movie is so great! I used to try to do the dances to these in my living room when I was little. I'd use the couch to do the tricks that they do and the lifts. I was a strange child, but whatever.

I have so many fond memories associated with this movie. I love that the father and daughter sing together. Movies like this make me wish that I could sing.

This is my dad's favorite song. I love this movie so much. When I was little my ward made movies and one group re-did the Wizard of Oz and they let me be mayor of the munchkins. My claim to fame. Awww yeah!

A boy will probably sing this song about me one day....

I love this so much! I don't really understand how the prince is Asian when his parents are Whoopi Goldberg and Victor Garber, but I guess I have bigger things to worry about.

We used to have Cats the Musical on VHS. I have friends who hate Cats, and just don't get. I understand that it's different, but I love it, and haters can hate.

LOVE

It wouldn't let me post below the next one. I love The Music Man. I was in this musical in 6th grade. I've loved the music ever since. Can I sing like her? Ok, sweet.

I have a room mate named Christine, so I tend to sing her songs from this musical a lot. Music of the Night is one of the most beautiful songs. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius, and Gerard Butler did such an amazing job as the Phantom. This movie was SO WELL DONE!

Sorry for so many. I had to resist putting up more. I'm annoying sorry, I just love musicals! Yaya!

Worst. Song. Ever.

I do not understand how this song is popular. Whenever I hear it on the radio I have to do a double take. The things that get put on the radio these days....yikes. Love you like a love song? K, cool. "Hypnotized by destiny." "Music to my heart, that's what you are." Nice lyrics Selena. Sorry for being a hater, but seriously this song is awful. My little sister LOVES Selena Gomez, and I have to leave the room whenever she starts playing this music.
Aside from this song being, for lack of a better word, crappy, the music video is the weirdest video I have ever seen. What's with the Mariachi band with the light sabers and hippie boyfriend that she hula hoops for? Actually I can't really single out weird parts because the ENTIRE video was absolutely bizarre. Sorry fans, but this one I just don't get.

Party in My Tummy

I watched this with my niece and nephew, and I have to say this is the strangest little show I have ever seen. They work at catching the kids though, because my niece and nephew LOVE it. My nephew dances along to the music and is all smiles. It's cute to watch them love it, but this show is annoying. If this is what television is coming to I am going to have issues. This song will not leave my head. I started singing it, and my mom yelled at me because she hates it too. Why do we put up with this?? Oh, the sacrifices we make for the little ones...

NetNewsWire

This is the coolest thing ever! I like to follow different blogs: mormon blogs, design blogs, wedding blogs, photography blogs, blogs of family/friends etc. I use my NetNewsWire to "subscribe" to all of the blogs that I want to follow. It tells me when they update and they are organized into the categories that I want them in. I find it kind of funny that my dad was the one to show this to me, but it's seriously awesome! He showed it to me over a year ago and it has probably consumed way too much of my time since then. I usually multitask and look at the blogs that I follow when I'm watching a movie or eating my dinner. I try not to be completely unproductive, but sometimes it happens, and I sit down and look at them.

This is a picture of mine. I have 328 unread blogs which shows my neglect to my NetNewsWire lately. I still love it though and at least get caught up on the family/friend updates.

Instagram

Instagram is my new favorite thing. It's simple and easy, which is perfect for me and my busy schedule. You take a picture, edit it (with the really simple editing they provide), then post it on your Instagram, usually with a caption. I love seeing what all of my friends and family are posting. I feel like it is a simpler way of following peoples' lives than blogs and facebook pages. The pictures are individual and there is no wall to write on or long blog posts to read. My cousin posted a picture of a brochure to a city they are going to for their anniversary. I did not have to read a really long blog post to know that. I just saw it on Instagram.  Although for some details in life it's nice to have a story with it or more than one picture, this is an easy way to quickly get updates on peoples' lives and then do the productive things that I should have been doing in the first place off of the internet.

Here are some of my Instagram pictures:

Cameron Mitchell

This summer I watched the Glee Project. It's everything good about Glee (the singing/dancing) minus all of the trashy plots. Watching this show I came to love Cameron Mitchell. He competed on the show, but left because he felt like they were asking him to do things that went against his Christian beliefs (how can you not be in love with him) On top of that, his voice is AMAZING! I'm also a sucker for the cute nerd. This version of Blackbird gives me chills every time. Though I resent the fact that he has a girlfriend, when they sing together it's so beautiful! Look up Macy Maloy on youtube if you want to hear her as well. They are the perfect musical couple, and I'm obsessed. Ever since the show I have followed their music, and Cameron has become one of my favorite artists. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do. You should watch his performances on the Glee Project if you get a chance as well!

Don't Ask Me Why

I thought I'd blog about a song this time around. This song by Billy Joel is one of my favorites. It's called "Don't Ask Me Why". I'm not sure why he rolls his r's in this version, but hey, he's Billy Joel and can do what he wants. I can listen to this any time and not get sick of it. Usually when I listen to it I am listening to it on repeat. I'm that annoying girl, yes. This was my go to song last year when a boy broke my heart. It's my go to song when I'm in my greatest moods. It's my go to song when I'm bored/sad/lonely/hyper....you get it, I love this song. I'm not sure what exactly it is about this song, but it makes me so happy every time it comes on. I love the beat, and I can resist drumming along on my steering wheel. The piano solo toward the end of the song makes me feel guilty for not ever practicing the piano. I told myself that I'm going to learn that part of the song before I die. We'll see... I also told myself that I'm going to learn the saxophone part of "Only The Good Die Young", and I highly doubt that that's going to happen. Anyway, I hope you all like this song as well. It's a great one for any mood.

Ps. I went to his concert that he did with Elton John (my favorite singer) and it was unreal. If you ever have a chance to see either one of them, GO! They are incredible live! I would post a video that I took from the concert, but you can hear me singing along, and it's B-A-D. So I'll spare you all.

Project Runway Allstars

I was at my grandpa's birthday party and my cousin's wife told me that the All Star season of Project Runway started last Thursday. Obviously I went home and watched it right away. The crazies are back and some of the most talented contestants have returned!!

Michael Costello is still dramatic, and I still can't stand him. Elisa is still insane, and Anthony is still hilarious. I could not be more excited for this season!

Favorite quotes of the episode:

"I ha no clue about these new people so imma keep one eye open" anthony (anything he says is funny just because of how he talks)
"...so I have all sorts of new tricks up my sleeve that I plan to razzle dazzle with" one of the gay guys
"you're gorgeous just like me" Anthony to his model
"The reason I give her a pass on being different is because I had a grandma who was committed to the crazy house" Anthony about Elisa
"my model is really making me question my sexuality right now." Michael (he actually said something worth quoting. Usually I just want to punch him in the face)
"you're not going to spit at me are you?" The editor of Marie Claire to the crazy Elisa
"y'all know I'm from the projects. I thought y'all were shootin'" Anthony when they popped open the champagne

I love that they started the season out with an unconventional challenge! They had to make a look inspired by one that they showed earlier in the episode. The only difference was that this look was created from materials bought at a 99 cent store. These people are so talented! My favorite thing about Project Runway is that it fosters creativity. The types of challenges that they are given really allow the designers to think away from conventional designs and to create things that are fashion forward and innovative. With this being a season of Allstars I expect to see an increased level of competition and creativity!

SPOILER ALERT:
Elisa is gone. Thank goodness. That chick was nutty.

Rami was the winner of the challenge. His was definitely the best piece. The others were either too strange for me or really ugly. I loved his season and have always been a Rami fan. I'm really excited to see what other ideas he has.

Hahahaha had to add this one

I can't wait for the rest of the episodes this season!
