I LOVE musicals. There need to be more musicals put into films. They are my favorite kind of movies, and they just make me giddy inside. I could be obvious and put disney movies up here, but I'm not going to. Ah! I'm excited. K, here are some of my favorites:
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. My grandma showed this to all of the grandkids when we were little, and since then it has been a family favorite. I have so many memories associated with this movie. I may even have Meet Me in St. Louis as the ringtone for when my best friend calls me....
I love this song from Slipper and the Rose. It takes like 5 minutes to get into the song so skip ahead. It's worth it. This movie is one of my mom's favorites, so it was watched a lot growing up. LOVE.
I have so many fond memories associated with this movie. I love that the father and daughter sing together. Movies like this make me wish that I could sing.
This is my dad's favorite song. I love this movie so much. When I was little my ward made movies and one group re-did the Wizard of Oz and they let me be mayor of the munchkins. My claim to fame. Awww yeah!
A boy will probably sing this song about me one day....
I love this so much! I don't really understand how the prince is Asian when his parents are Whoopi Goldberg and Victor Garber, but I guess I have bigger things to worry about.
We used to have Cats the Musical on VHS. I have friends who hate Cats, and just don't get. I understand that it's different, but I love it, and haters can hate.
LOVE
It wouldn't let me post below the next one. I love The Music Man. I was in this musical in 6th grade. I've loved the music ever since. Can I sing like her? Ok, sweet.
I have a room mate named Christine, so I tend to sing her songs from this musical a lot. Music of the Night is one of the most beautiful songs. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius, and Gerard Butler did such an amazing job as the Phantom. This movie was SO WELL DONE!
Sorry for so many. I had to resist putting up more. I'm annoying sorry, I just love musicals! Yaya!
How can you not love this? This movie is so great! I used to try to do the dances to these in my living room when I was little. I'd use the couch to do the tricks that they do and the lifts. I was a strange child, but whatever.

I like musicals too, but I haven't seen most of these. My mom's been telling me to see My Fair Lady for YEARS but I haven't gotten around to it! Sad, right?!?
ReplyDeleteMusicals just bring up so many good memories. The songs are just so catchy and fun. You can experience any emotion in a musical and it's all because of the songs! Love them!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, but I absolutely hate musicals. I think it is because I hate when people do things in unison (if I was ever caught in the middle of a flash mob I'd probably curl up into fetal position). There are only two musicals that I can sit through and they are The Phantom of the Opera (I saw it in London) and Beauty and the Beast (my little sister played Belle in high school). I can see where you are coming from, but musicals are not like real life, and I hate them. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteMusicals are my absolute favorite! I listen to the songs all the time and they just make me so happy. Thanks for posting!
